Lal Gopalganj is a town and a nagar panchayat in Prayagraj district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It lies on NH 24 A from Allahabad to Lucknow. Nearest railway station is Lal Gopalganj which is 1.5 km far from Nagar Panchayat office. Soraon is the sub district and Prayagraj is the district head quarter and the distance from the city is 43 km. Lucknow is the state head quarter and is 164 km far from here. Yearly average rainfall of the city is 985 mm. Maximum temperature here reaches up to 47°C and minimum temperature goes down to 5°C.

Under the urban local self governance system, the Nagar Panchayat is administratively part of the district it is located in. Nagar Palikas/ Panchayats are entrusted with some duties and responsibilities, as enshrined in the Constitutional (74th Amendment) Act, 1992. It interacts directly with the State Government.

The members of the Nagar Panchayat are elected representatives for a term of five years. The town is divided into wards according to its population, and representatives are elected from each ward. The members elect a president among themselves to preside over and conduct meetings.

Lal Gopalganj have total 15 wards namely- Nindaura East, Khanjahanpur North, Nindaura South-West, Nindaura West, Umraoganj, Nindaura North, Nindaura South, Ibrahimpur, Daniyalpur khas, Rawa, Daniyalpur South-West, Imamganj, Nindaura Middle, Nindaura South-East and khanjahanpur. There are 10749 Households in the city according to G.I.S. Survey 2019-20.

Mission and Vision

The Mission and Vision of Nagar Panchayat is to make the city a cleaner, more beautiful city and discharging the duties enlisted in the Municipal Act 1959 in order to provide better civic facilities and services to the citizens of the city.

Role Function

To ensure running and maintenance of civic services and facilities such as water supply, sewage system, Light facilities, Road network, Garbage collection, Toilets, etc. and ensure below points:-

  • 3. To run public health services
  • 4. To maintain record of land and properties owned by it
